Open the hard drive window and select COLUMN VIEW.
 

Launch the MacOS X Mail software by clicking on APPLICATIONS and then selecting MAIL from the drop down menu.
 

 
 

In the Mail Setup window, fill in the information as shown below

Your Name: Your name or the name you would like people to see when sending and receiving email

Email Address: The email address you picked out.

Incoming Mail Server: pop.nenana.net

Mail Server Type: Make sure the radio button labeled POP is checked.

User Account ID: Type your email address again.

Password: Type the password you picked out.

Outgoing (SMTP) Mail Server: smtp.nenana.net
 

Double check that all of the information you entered is correct and then click on OK.

If you are not able to send and receive email, please check the above settings again.  If you are still unable to send and receive email please try logging to our web mail online at www.nenana.net.  If you are able to log in to our web mail online then you email is functioning properly and a setting in Default Mail that is not correct, please contact MAC's tech support to troubleshoot the problem.  If you are not able to log in to our web mail online please call Yukon Telephone's Wasilla Office 1.800.478.2556

If you are not using a nenana.net or yukontel.com email address you will need to enable authentication on your outgoing (SMTP) mail server.  You will need your BBN username and password (please call the Wasilla Office to setup a username and password if you did not set one up at installation). 

 

1.  Open Mail

2.  Select the Preferences option.  The Account window will appear.

3.  Click to highlight your email account, and click Edit.

4.  From the Outgoing Mail Server screen, enter the following information before selecting Continue:

      Note: Ensure the Use Authentication box is checked.

                a. Outgoing Mail Server

                b. Username

                C. Password

5.  From the Outgoing Mail Security screen, verify the following before selecting Continue:

                a.  Password is selected from the Authentication drop-down.

                b.  The Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) box is not checked.

6.  Click OK.
