Open OUTLOOK.

From the main menu, click on the TOOLS TAB to expand the TOOLS MENU, click on EMAIL ACCOUNTS. (* If your version of Outlook has simply 'Accounts' listed (Office 2000), please follow the instructions about how to set up Outlook Express).


TOOLS AND EMAIL ACCOUNTS


Select Add a new e-mail account and click on the NEXT BUTTON.
ADD NEW ACCOUNT


Select POP3 as your server type and click on the NEXT BUTTON.SELECT POP3


In the YOUR NAME FIELD, enter your name as you wish it to be viewed by the people to whom you send your email.


In the EMAIL ADDRESS FIELD type your username and @nenana.net this will be your email address.  For example test@nenana.net

In the INCOMING MAIL SERVER (POP3) FIELD type: pop.nenana.net


In the OUTGOING MAIL SERVER (SMTP) FIELD type: smtp.nenana.net

In the USERNAME FIELD type your entire email address again (your username@nenana.net). For example test@nenana.net.


In the PASSWORD FIELD type the password you chose, remember this field is case sensitive.

Verify that all the information you entered is correct then click the NEXT BUTTON.
 

Click on the FINISH BUTTON and you are ready to start sending and receiving email.

If you are not able to send and receive email, please check the above settings again.  If you are still unable to send and receive email please try logging to our web mail online at www.nenana.net.  If you are able to log in to our web mail online then you email is functioning properly and a setting in Outlook is not correct, please contact Outlook's tech support to troubleshoot the problem.  If you are not able to log in to our web mail online please call Yukon Telephones Wasilla Office. 800.478.2556

 

If you are not using a nenana.net or yukontel.com email address but are using our internet service you will need to enable smtp authentication to successfully send email.  You will need your BBN username and password to enable smtp authentication.  (If you did not set one up at installation please call the Wasilla Office to get your username and password.)

 

Open Microsoft Outlook

In the EMAIL ACCOUNTS SCREEN select VIEW OR CHANGE AN EXISTING EMAIL ACCOUNT and click on the NEXT BUTTON.

In the EMAIL ACCOUNTS BOX select you account and click on the CHANGE BUTTON.

On the SETTINGS SCREEN click on the MORE SETTINGS BUTTON.

 

On the MORE SETTINGS SCREEN click on the OUTGOING SERVER TAB and check the box labeled MY OUTGOING SERVER (SMTP) REQUIRES AUTHENTICATION.   Select LOG ON USING and in the USERNAME and PASSWORD FIELDS put your nenana.net email address and password.  You must enter your entire email address in the username field.  Check the REMEMBER PASSWORD BOX so that you will not have to re-enter your password when sending and receiving email.

Double check to make sure all the fields have the correct information.  Click on the OK BUTTON to save your information and close the screen.  You should now be able to send and receive email.
