Badnwidth Usage Tips

When you are on the internet, be aware of file sizes and streaming quality.  If a radio or voice conversation streams at 64kbps that means it consumes 64kb every second.  There are 1,048,576 kb in a GB, so it would take 4.55 hours to consume 1GB of bandwidth.  The average video clip or movie streams at 300kbps, so it takes approximately 1 hour to consume 1GB of bandwidth.  If you download a file that is 56kb you could download it approximately 18,000 times before you consumed 1 GB of bandwidth, but if you download a file that is 26MB you could download it only about 40 times before consuming 1 GB of bandwidth.
